2. What is an Eastern Church?
Ever since the time of the Apostles, Christianity has flourished in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East, and even as far as India. The various churches founded in these places preserve Apostolic succession and manifest a broad commonality in doctrine and praxis, expressed in various ways liturgically and culturally. The different Churches called “Eastern” today all stem from these apostolic traditions, many of them affiliated with ancient episcopal sees such as Jerusalem, Constantinople (today Istanbul, Turkey), Alexandria, Antioch, or even Baghdad. (For comparison, the Roman Catholic Church, which is more familiar to many people in America or Western Europe, derives from St. Peter’s ancient see at Rome.) Although these various churches are no longer fully united, OLTV Web hopes to foster improved understanding and relations between Western and Eastern Christians. Please see our goals for further details. For further information on Eastern Churches, please visit our bookstore.

7. Why can't I hear any audio?
Firefox, Opera, or Safari running on a Mac with a low speed (dialup) connection have been known to not play the audio portion of Windows Media clips. If you are still having trouble beyond this configuration check that your computer's audio is on and that the volume is at an acceptable level.
